Grapico soda has been a staple throughout the Southeast for more than 100 years, but the brand looked and felt dated – and not in a good way.

Challenge

Rebrand Grapico to make it feel new and fresh, while not losing its Southern authenticity.

Insight

Grapico’s branding had no relation to its storied past. A new brand, launching on its 100th birthday, would bring to life its heritage and allow it to stand out on store shelves.

Solution

Starting with the logo, o2 developed a top-to-bottom rebrand touting Grapico as “A Southern Thing.” This position came to life in packaging, outdoor, social media, print and in-store signage.

Results

The rebrand inspired a boost in sales and a resurgence of interest in Grapico – seen in everything from Grapico cupcakes to Grapico ice cream to Grapico marshmallows. Today, the rebranded Grapico can be found on grocery store shelves in Buffalo Rock’s footprint.
