Grapico soda has been a staple throughout the Southeast for more than 100 years. However, this local legend had failed to hit the big-time – until a complete rebrand by o2.

Challenge

While our client, Buffalo Rock, is the largest independent Pepsi Bottler in the United States, its proprietary brands, including Grapico, were not available in all Southeastern Walmart stores. Our challenge was to help Buffalo Rock expand into the world’s biggest retailer.

Insight

Grapico’s branding had no relation to its storied past. A new brand would bring to life its heritage and allow it to stand out on any store’s shelves.

Solution

Starting with the logo, o2 developed a top-to-bottom rebrand touting Grapico as “A Southern Thing.” This position came to life in packaging, outdoor social media and POP.

Results

In 2018, Grapico hit the shelves of every Walmart throughout the Southeast.
